You'll discover a region of rivers, towns and villages - often UNESCO or 'most beautiful villages in France' listed, full of history, culture, charm and other characteristic sites such as Bordeaux, Saint-Emilion and Blaye. You'll be able to experience things differently, taking the time to savour the trip from every angle.
Among the cruises proposed by CroisiEurope our absolute favourite is the « Grands crus and architectural Heritage" one where you'll spend a week in the Bordeaux region. Here's a glimpse of the schedule:
First up, a late afternoon warm welcome in Bordeaux, on the quayside near the Place de la Bourse, a miniature Versailles. Enjoy the warm, glowing, end of day colours of the 17th style facades.
Then you'll head off towards Pauillac to discover the great wines. The famous Médoc "route des châteaux" is full of surprises and all 5 senses will be put to the test during the wine tastings.
As you carry on along the river, you'll leave Pauillac to head up the Gironde Estuary - the biggest in Europe, along the "Côte Fleurie", before treating yourself to a must-do stopover, the UNESCO-listed Citadelle de Blaye.
The cruise then joins the Dordogne, with a stop at Libourne. From there, it's on to Saint-Emilion, a medieval village full of charm, history and its internationally renowned vineyards.
But it's not over yet! The cruise then winds along the Cadillac hillsides, just like a winegrower roaming his vines. A short excursion with a country feel...
