Towering above Crempse valley, a few kilometres from Mussidan and the A89, Montréal is a château from the first Renaissance (1535), built on an old fortress. The 13th and 14th century gardens, designed in the early 20th century with input from of Achille Duchêne, a renowned landscape designer in the Belle Epoque are spread on the ramparts of Château Montréal, with some parts still remaining today.

Enclosed with walls covered in white and cream roses and white clematises, the lower, Italian-style, garden is dotted with topiaries. It contrasts with the upper, French-style, garden, where the flowerbeds and boxwood benches highlight the outline of the ramparts, with two terraces, one with roses, nepetas and blue sage, the other with red and yellow dahlias. Outside, Montréal park has a star-shaped arbour. Partly destroyed by the storm in 1999, it had been replanted for your walks.

A vineyard reborn

After much patient, meticulous and passionate work, Château de Peyrel was restored to its original winemaking vocation in 2013. Our wines are elaborated in keeping with traditional craftsmanship, preserving both the plant and its fruit, in order to produce natural products of the highest gustative and aromatic quality.

A water mill dating back to the 16th century, the Moulin de la Veyssière is the last working oil mill in the Vern Valley at Neuvic sur l'Isle. Jacques Elias bought the mill in 1857 and for 165 years, the history, passion and know-how have been passed down from generation to generation. We produce traditional oils and flours with character: walnut, hazelnut, almond and peanut. A real living heritage, a place for living and sharing, a visit to the mill will take you on a journey through history and gastronomy.
