Truffles galore
Just 20 minutes from Périgueux, in the town of Sorges, at the very heart of White Périgord, the Truffle Ecomuseum offers a comprehensive overview of the tuber melanosporum, the Périgord truffle.
Each part of the tour unveils the mysteries of the black diamond, from mycorrhization through to harvesting and also presents the way to exhale the fragrances as well as the history of truffle-growing in the region.
Pursue your exploration on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons (with a guide) along the interpretative trail to discover everything there is to know about the fauna and flora particular to truffle areas.

The perfect site for discovering how walnut oil is made (pressing every afternoon from Monday to Friday) in keeping with traditions, plus direct tasting as soon as it comes out of the press. A documentary film, a discovery stroll through the walnut orchard and a gourmet stop-off at the boutique to fill up on virgin oils from the mill and from the site’s production base complete the visit
