Welcome to Pierre Buffière, a village with a strong identity and an extraordinary past. And that's why I'm here! This square, beautifully enhanced by its ancient cedar tree, is the site of the former cemetery. It was named after Adeline, the daughter of Pierre-Buffière-born surgeon Baron Dupuytren. When Baron Dupuytren died, he bequeathed 50,000 Francs to his native town to build a fountain bearing the name of his daughter, Adeline.

Many thanks to you, my earthbound friend! My journey has been very long, and on your advice I'm now off to meet that precious Vic Turnien! Your friend Zouti was right: you are very? How did he put it? very? Toquée! I confess I don't quite understand the meaning of your Earth expressions, but he was right: only you could understand me!
So Zouti says I'm "toquée"! Wait till I get my hands on that one! Attention, imminent takeoff!

The exhibition "Hemp yesterday and today", teaches about the history of the hemp, through old tools used in the 19th century in Limousin, but also its current applications. The exhibition "History of a pair of gloves" tells the story of Cognac the Cold (the Forest now) from 1924 to 1994. The city was an active center in the glove industry. In the aftermath of June 10 1944, Oradour-sur-Glane sadly became part of history. On March 4, 1945, the provisional government, then represented by General De Gaulle, planned to rebuild a new town. On October 8, 2007, the town was awarded the "Heritage of the 20th Century" label. Charged with history and emotion, the village of Oradour has risen from the ashes while preserving the vestiges of its past.
