Jardin du Château de Montréal

Towering above Crempse valley, a few kilometres from Mussidan and the A89, Montréal is a château from the first Renaissance (1535), built on an old fortress. The 13th and 14th century gardens, designed in the early 20th century with input from of Achille Duchêne, a renowned landscape designer in the Belle Epoque are spread on the ramparts of Château Montréal, with some parts still remaining today.

Enclosed with walls covered in white and cream roses and white clematises, the lower, Italian-style, garden is dotted with topiaries. It contrasts with the upper, French-style, garden, where the flowerbeds and boxwood benches highlight the outline of the ramparts, with two terraces, one with roses, nepetas and blue sage, the other with red and yellow dahlias. Outside, Montréal park has a star-shaped arbour. Partly destroyed by the storm in 1999, it had been replanted for your walks.

Once a piece of vineyard and sheep meadows, its park is now a municipal garden of the town of Mussidan, pleasant and shady, with interesting species of trees. The Carthusian monastery is home to a museum dedicated to the art of living, to the know-how of the craft industry and to the evolution of Perigord society over the last 200 years.

Le Petit Spirulinier

Spirulina is a thousand-year-old cyanobacteria, considered to be the most complete food in the world. Its many benefits will win you over. Rich in antioxidants, amino acids, proteins, minerals, vitamins and iron, spirulina is easily assimilated because of its natural origin. It is suitable for everyone: men, women, athletes, seniors and anyone wishing to look after their health with a natural, unprocessed, local product.

Available in flakes or tablets (without additives), our Dordogne spirulina is produced and dried at low temperature on our farm. Although used as a dietary supplement, spirulina is a natural, high-quality agricultural product. Its local, artisanal production uses very little farmland, water and energy, and is free of pesticides and herbicides, making it very environmentally friendly.
