Perched on a hill overlooking the Dordogne valley, Monbazillac Château is a must-see on the Bergerac wine trail. Property of Monbazillac cellar since 1960, this 16th century building has unique and original architecture, a mix of defence systems, with its allure and moats, and Renaissance style, with bay windows.
The path leading to the château gives you the best view of the building and its terraces with a wide panorama over a sea of vineyards. Furnished with Périgord furniture from the 17th century and Italian baroque furniture, visit the vaulted cellars of Monbazillac château which house a vineyard and wine museum. At the end of your route, enjoy a Monbazillac wine-tasting session.
Romain, a 30-year-old epicurean winemaker, decided to challenge himself in 2014: take over Château Haut Bernasse, a 14-ha property, and develop an organic agriculture. It has 11 ha of white (sémillon, muscadelle, white and grey sauvignon) and 3 ha of red (cabernet sauvignon, merlot and cabernet franc).
He grows these 35-year-old vines traditionally, with grassing and ploughed rows, for the purpose of making quality wines on this exceptional land.

Located in the far east of Bordeaux, in the region of Sainte-Foy-La Grande, the Château de Parenchère vineyard adjoins the departments of Dordogne and Lot-et-Garonne and therefore presents a very particular terroir in the Bordelais, composed of clay and limestone with a very high clay content, which partly explains the power of the wines produced there. The total area of the property is 153 hectares. The vineyard is concentrated on 63 hectares, planted on the best exposed plots of the domain in order to capture the rays of the sun from the first to the last hour of the day. The grapes are thus, even in difficult years, picked at full maturity, which allows them to release all their aroma and richness.
Labeled structure ensuring professional supervision in a friendly atmosphere, for the practice of riding in all disciplines on horses and ponies. Baptism from 2 years old. Hikes or courses for all levels, all ages.
Open all year round, visits by appointment (leave a telephone message, answering machine consulted very regularly).
Dordogne label for families.
In the heart of Bergerac vineyards, the Domain of Moulin Pouzy and its sunny hills cover 55 hectares.
The property belongs to the Castaing family since 1898 – the year of its creation.
At its head, Fabien Castaing represents the fifth generation of winegrowers.
Pampered vineyards, a well thought-out viticulture, high quality oenological and wine supports contribute to the making of fine wines.
These creations, made thanks to the meticulous work of men, honour Nature.
By strolling through vines and flavours, Fabien Castaing invites you to discover his world – world he wants unique, contemporary and rooted.
To show how we respect the Nature, the property has the certification " High Environmental Value".

Located at 10 km south Bergerac on Dordogne left bank and with a surface of more than 10 ha, Château Kalian is completely settled in Monbazillac town. 90% of its exploitation area is dedicated to the creation of sweet wines.
Château Kalian is a 100% organic family property since 2012 which celebrated its 25 years anniversary in 2017. The name KALIAN comes from the mixing of their children names Katell and Kilian, who are two young oenologists. Kilian, their son, is now the owner of the property.
You will be welcomed with conviviality in a magnificent tasting room converted into an old barn with stone and stud walls.

A winemaker dream: 18 contiguous hectares of vines, with a house in the middle of them, organic agriculture with an amazing panorama.
Beautiful preserved terroirs and wines with a minimum of inputs.
Driven by a passion for wine, I left my native Belgium in 1999 in order to become a winemaker in Monbazillac (south of Bergerac) in the Périgord-Dordogne region. On my small vineyard holding of almost 10 hectares, I make with passion Monbazillac wines, as well as red, rosé, dry white Bergerac and sweet Côtes de Bergerac wines. Enjoying meeting people and sharing my knowledge, I am keen to let you discover my profession and passion through many œnotouristic activities that I organise all year round.
