In the heart of Monbazillac, on a hill overlooking the banks of the Dordogne and the historic town of Bergerac, the organic wines of exception of Château Grande Maison have been produced for decades (Monbazillac, Côtes de Bergerac, red/white Bergerac and rosé).
The thirteenth century fortified house has a unique environment :
- Overall exposure is south facing on more or less accentuated hills.
- The lake at the heart of the property offers an exceptional asset to promote botrytis, the fungus that creates the uniqueness and richness of Monbazillac
- The soil is clay-limestone with silica in places that gives a certain acidity.
With quality as the overarching objective, the entire production is subject to the rules of organic farming and the biodynamic method, allowing our wines to express their character and the best of this region.
Marie-France and Didier Roussel will be happy to welcome you within the confines of their property where you will be able to discover their different products in complete serenity: Bordeaux clairet, Sainte-Foy Bordeaux red, dry white and syrupy. Visit of the cellars, tasting, discovery of the vineyard on request. Groups welcome (30 people). Member of the France Passion network for the reception of motorhomes.
This 35-hectare 15th-century wine-making estate has the single aim of producing wine in strict compliance with organic farming methods. During your visit here, you can admire the storehouses, which were fully restored in 1994 and equipped with state-of-the-art technical facilities.
The château has been accredited as an organic winemaking estate since April 2007.

Donald Steel, considered to be one of the very best “natural” golf course architects, created our unique 27 hole course in its enthralling setting amidst plum trees, oak woods, lakes and vineyards.
Donald, who has contributed to many world-famous courses such as the Jubilee and Eden courses at St. Andrews as well as Chantilly in France, designed the course with the Château as its centrepiece; the 9th and 18th finishing off in front of the Château; and many of the other undulating greens with different perspectives of the Château.
Château Cluzeau is foremost an ultra modern winery in an enchanting setting that offers organic and noble wines, developed in a strict respect of nature and biodiversity.
Château Cluzeau is also an unexpected scenography which speaks of the vine and wine with a playful perspective, dreamlike and unconventional.
It is a place for which the tour has been designed to allow adults and children, who have not been forgotten, fun memories of their holidays in Dordogne.
