In the Creuse, the Monts de Guéret form a wonderful park for all to practice their favourite sport in a unique natural setting!
A paradise for mountain-bike enthusiasts: the Monts de Guéret FFC Mountain Bike site offers 720 kms of marked paths (37 green, blue, red or black circuits) for you to choose from depending on your level. Watch out for the gradients, often very steep and technical. You can also train on a downhill slope, trial zones and a BMX track or set off on the 140km Monts de Guéret Mountain-bike tour.
It's also a favourite spot with trail runners who come for the outstanding environment of forests, meadows, lakes, streams and wild gorges. Ten specifically-marked circuits allow you to train both day and night (reflective signposting). A new Trail and Triathlon space has just opened. If you want, you can take part in a number of free group trails, the ideal opportunity to test new circuits in the company of other trailers.
An event not to be missed is the White Wolf Trail organised mid-December in the Monts de Guéret.
For hikers and Nordic walkers, follow the Monts de Guéret end of the world paths in the middle of breathtaking landscapes. Over 250km of footpaths and a 120km GRP (Grand Randonné Footpath) to choose from. Not forgetting the Geocaching Terra Aventura application, an exciting treasure hunt for all the family www.terra-aventura.fr
Finally horseriders have more than 80km of tracks and GRP paths to follow across the area.
Other activities around Guéret: climbing, paragliding, orienteering races in the Maupuy and Chabrières forests; fishing, sailing, canoe and kayaking, stand up paddling and zip lining across the water in Courtille, Anzême and Jouillat.
